Catamount sound was established in 2023 . Brad Licht, who started Catamount  Sound, has been in the Music business since 1977 as a drummer and a lead singer. In 1991 he started mixing sound part time. But then his playing schedule got to be where he was playing all the time and had no time to dedicate to running a sound company. So it was put on the back burner. He has, however, been running sound for his bands from the stage as well as for benefits. After he retired from his job, he needed something to do. He got a call that there was an opening for a sound tech from the local radio station that puts on a concert series every summer. So when the radio station called and asked him to run sound for the concert series, he accepted. And Catamount Sound was born.

His now partner, Chuck Poulton has been running sound for approximately 16 years. He has been working with a local sound engineer, John Williams, that has been involved in sound since he was 15 years old. Chuck worked with Brad for the first year of his concert series and after the first year, he asked if he could join the Catamount team. And they have been working together ever since doing shows across New England, in to Connecticut and New York. In 2024 the company went from a traditional sound system to a Line Array System. And ever since has been turning heads! The company is growing at a rapid pace.
